Fish soup

Last night, I made Lingcod Chowder from Dan's recipe. I didn't realize how much soup the recipe made and so I didn't get enough lingcod. It had more potatoes in it than fish. Quite good though - spicy milky broth with different chunks of vegetables in it. I had never worked with lingcod before. I wasn't expecting to find bones and couldn't get them out so I didn't even get to use all of the fillet I brought home. Oh well...

Webster v. Blue Ship Tea Room: When a customer choked on a fish bone and sued the restaurant, the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled there was no manufacturing defect in the soup because a reasonable customer would expect to find fish bones in hearty fish chowder.

Would this case be decided the same way in any other state? The chowds are serious about chowdah.

Sorry it didn't work out ... we didn't have problems w/ bones when we made the chowder, else I'd have warned you.

Oh, the soup was delicious. I didn't mean to suggest that it wasn't. It's definitely on the repeat list. Next time, though, I'm going to get more fish and ask for it de-boned at the seafood counter.
